In this blog, we take you through three steps to create the ideal form of relaxation: watching TV or streaming from your bathtub. We explain exactly what you need, what your bathroom needs to meet and give you all the tools you need to upgrade your bathroom with a bathroom TV yourself. And we can tell you right away: almost every bathroom with a bathtub offers the possibility of installing a TV. We won't keep you in suspense any longer. You need this to fully enjoy your favorite (live) TV programs or to stream your favorite movies or series from the bathtub.
1. A waterproof bathroom TV
The first step sounds logical, but not everyone is aware of the necessity. A waterproof bathroom TV is really a requirement to be able to watch TV from the bathtub. In fact, bathrooms, no matter how good the venting is, get very damp. In an earlier blog, we described this necessity in detail. We briefly summarize it for you. Due to the high humidity (while bathing or showering), the chance of corrosion or rust in normal TVs is very high, so they would only last for months instead of years in the bathroom. In addition, normal TVs would fog up due to the temperature difference between the hot water and the cold television. And then there is the remote control, which you cannot operate with wet hands.
All these problems are solved by the Bathroom TV from AquaSound. The entire housing of the TV is waterproof (IPX5), as is the remote control. Thanks to the heated LED screen, the TV no longer fogs up and you can enjoy Full HD quality to the fullest.
AquaSound's Bathroom TV is designed to accommodate any type of bath use. The TV is splash-proof, so that even small children can continue to use the bath without any problems. In order to find its place in practically every bathroom, two versions are available: the recessed model and the surface-mounted model, which can be attached with a (movable) VESA bracket of your choice and thus made rotatable if necessary.
Just so you know: both models are SMART, which makes streaming even easier. The normal connections via the Media Box (which we will describe shortly) are of course still present. The latest model has been further expanded with the Smart TV functionality. This way you can easily install your favorite streaming apps via the Google Play Store. So there are really no limitations!
2. Make sure you have the right connections (power, coax and internet)
The Media Box is the connection between everything that is and is not waterproof. This is the only element that is not placed openly in the bathroom, but ideally behind a false wall. All cables (power, coax and internet) are connected to the Media Box. From the Media Box, one cable then goes to the Bathroom TV. With a cable length of 150 cm (built-in model) to 225 cm (surface-mounted model), you generally have enough space to find a place where the Media-Box is safe and dry.
This also means that the power supply, coaxial cable and internet cable only need to reach the location of the Media-Box. We also deliberately mention the internet cable, because we notice that this gives a much more stable viewing experience than via WiFi. However, wireless streaming is also possible. The coaxial cable is also optional. If you want to watch live TV, it is of course necessary to do this via coaxial cable. But if you only want to stream, this is not necessary
Wondering what the best location for your Bathroom TV and Media Box would be? In this blog we explain exactly how to determine the ideal location of your bathroom TV.
3. Start streaming!
Once you have determined the ideal location and have chosen between the surface-mounted or built-in model, it is time to mount the TV. We believe that anyone can do this themselves, although the built-in model does require a bit more work if you are upgrading your current bathroom. However, the approach of our products is Plug Play, and we have made the mounting as easy as possible, in addition to the installation. In the online manual you will find everything you need to place and use the Bathroom TV. And then you can start streaming!
Whether you want to watch live TV from the bath, or enjoy the best films and series via streaming services such as Netflix, Prime, YouTube, Disney+ or HBO+, it is all possible with the AquaSound Bathroom TV. Thanks to the Google Play Store, you have practically all streaming options at your disposal. The ideal way to relax is therefore closer than you might think!
